It Does Not Need to "Hurt" For it to Need Treatment
Cracked Tooth Syndrome is an extremely common condition in back teeth. Most patients aren't even aware they have it. Many back molars are "stuffed" with silver and have multiple cracks in the tooth itself. Symptoms range from nothing to biting pain. Often the nerve is already dead, due to bacterial leakage under the silver filling. If caught in time, a simple crown is the best treatment. If pain is present, a root canal is necessary. We use an intra-oral camera to detect these cracked teeth-before they hurt.
